Skykomish

Do you suffer from late blight in your tomato patch? In PA we get some of the worst late blight, in 2012 we experienced a killing blight in May! Global warming has increased incedents of diseases because we depend on hard freezes to cull the pests and pathological microbes. Through the worst of it Skykomish has been one of the only cultivars to persistently produce into the frost regardless of conditions of disease. They are fruity flavored bicolor slicers born later in the season on regular leaf indeterminate vines. The interesting thing about the bicolor fruits is that the cores are pure yellow, only the flesh under the skins contains lycopene. As disease probelms threaten to increase in future years, I’m counting on Skykomish who’s near immunity to late blight makes it one of the more important tomato cultivars to date. Orignially bred by Tom Wagner, selected to stability here at Good Mind Seeds, which means if you see Skykomish being offered elsewhere, it is not necessarily the same exact tomato. At least 10 seeds per packet.
