Eva’s Purple Ball

Eva’s Purple Ball is in fact a pink tomato. Back in the day, purple meant pink. Some people say this is the most beautiful tomato, which must be due to how uniform and solid colored the fruit are. There is no core. Almost every single fruit is indistinguishable, crack free, bug free (the most resistant to the “stinkbugs”), and the same lovely shade of pink. The flavor is rather sharp and acidic, so if you are into that sort of flavor then this is for you. Bred over 200 years ago in the Black Forest of Germany, and brought to the US in the late 1800’s by the family of Joseph Bratka of Elmwood Park, New Jersey.
